New Orleans launches free Wifi

Wifi The mayor of New Orleans announced that free wifi will be available throughout the Big Easy. Hardware mounted on street lights enable the entire city to be covered. The equipment was donated by Intel, Tropos Networks, and Prontos Networks.

The network will be at a mere 512KB during the state of emergency, but will be dropped to a laughable 128KB afterwards. The speed decrease is the result of a state law that restricts government-owned Internet services.

New Orleans Web Hosting Firm Vows to Fight

Courtesy of DirectNIC.com I wish my hosting company was this dedicated. Employees of a New Orleans company hosting 800,000 websites have been holed up in their office building since Sunday. They have vowed not to let the hurricane shut them down. Crisis Manager, Michael Barnett, has been communicating to the world from his blog.

The last entry which states they are in need of diesel fuel. And are close to shutting down due to non-delivery of scheduled fuel.

Good Luck out there!

Interesting photos of the disaster from their site.

UPDATE: As of 7:15 AM they are not out of fuel yet. But the fuel truck was to be there at 6 AM.

UPDATE 2: Fuel drop successful. They will remain online.

Was Katrina A Man-Made Storm?

Today, George Bush was quoted as saying “It’s as if the entire Gulf Coast were obliterated by the worst kind of weapon you can imagine.”. While some people read the statement as nothing more then another stupid misinformed blurb out of his mouth there is some truth to it.

Just about every human being is totally unaware that technology exists NOW, whereby weather can be used as a Weapon of Mass Destruction. Please see all the links below which will explain this NEW SCALAR TECHNOLOGY, whose principles were developed by Nikolai Tesla. Tesla, whose name was literally eliminated from history books, gave the world alternating electric current, robotics, light bulbs and so much more of what we now call “modern technology”. Tesla also had a plan of how he was going to give FREE ENERGY to everyone on Planet Earth and this is the main reason you do not read about this incredible man, who passed away in the early 1900’s.

Today, Tesla’s SCALAR technology is being used by the U.S.A., Russia, Japan and possibly others to create Weather Weapons of Mass Destruction. Since the People have not been made aware of this amazing technology, the individuals {the Illuminati}, who control the world’s major governments, can use Scalar technology “for profit” without being detected by the over six billion human beings on Planet earth.

Bungie offers “Fight the Flood” T-Shirts

Halo Shirt Bungie is offering a “Fight the Flood” t-shirt that will benefit the Red Cross for the current Katrina tragedy.

The pitch:

Seriously. Stop reading for a minute, get a credit card, go to the website and buy the T-Shirt. It’s $19.99 and about $15 of that will go directly to the Hurricane Relief effort, through the American Red Cross. Not a penny profit will be made and every cent of cash will go where it’s needed.

Bungie is graciously offering all the royalties from their online store during the month of September to the Red Cross. Very cool of these guys to step up like that. Just remember other corporate citizens are helping out too.

Additionally, Bungie Studios is going to donate all of the royalties we earn on any other Bungie Store products for the month of September to the Red Cross. So if you feel inclined to grab something else while you’re here, know that a portion of that will also go to those in need.
